Merry Christmas all :))

Merry Christmas blogging friends..
Today this beautiful gift of a Christmas cake was delivered to us ...

Our friends on the Eastcoast of Tasmania made 40 cakes this year.
Not only  do they make cakes, they will have 30 people for Christmas lunch.. To me this is Christmas Giving..

Thank you to all the people who donate their time to work the soup kitchens around the Christian world.    Merry Christmas to all :))

Evandale Market and Killiecrankie Farm

After a night of heavy rain and damaging winds, the sun managed to smile through on the folk and their wares at the Evandale market today..
Hubby found a uke and I found Lee. I had read on her blog, that she would have a stall today, so being so close , we had to call in and say "Hi" to Lee and her mum..
The wind was playing havoc with all the stalls and keeping things in place was a job on its own.
I have had the pleasure of meeting a couple of cyber friends from the mainland over the past couple of years, and I have to say  what a pleasure it was to meet Lee and her mum.. It adds another dimension to blogging..

Log Cabin crochet rug

Log Cabin Crochet....I found a great blog on the net Dutch Girl Diary. The picture and a pattern of a pot holder can be found by clicking here  When I saw this rug I had to make it ,.. You know you get that feeling of .. nothing will stop me now, a must have, yes, you know what I mean??
The white yarn is actually , what I call a cacky green.. One more row and it will be complete..
Having said that, it is quite small. Possibly because the yarn I used is an( Aus) 8ply  and used a 4mm hook .It only measures 24 ".. But it would make a lovely dolly blanket or maybe for a little dog I know..
Thanks for stopping by, don't forget to leave me a message, I love to get them.. Hope you have a blessed week.. :))

Girls Day Out :))

Today is girls day out,My friend Tina
and I have been getting together for a couple of years now, some times we go out for lunch and shop, or stay in and crochet..
The sun is out at the moment, so we may just go and take a peek at Spotlight, they are having a great sale on wool and cottons at the moment..
There is a granny pattern I would like to make.. I found it Here.
I will need to buy more yarn, (music to my ears ) as my stash has diminished greatly. :))
I have been trying out the Queen Anne's Lace scarf.. I must say it is addictive.. crochets up so quickly, a few more gifts in the stocking .

From This........

Who would have thought that my bag would end up looking like this ?
I am happy with the new Cushion as it is very soft and will take its place on the garden swing this summer.
I think the ribbon looks ok ..As that is where the handles would have gone.. :))
The weather has been spectacular today, so the day was spent in the garden, deadheading roses and the Rhododendrons that had taken a beating from the heavy rain we have had the last couple of days..

The weather bureau tonight says we are in for more rain.. Well it was a great day .. Looks like a crocheting weekend coming up :))
Happy Thanks Giving to our American Friends..
Have a great weekend to all :))

Small crocheted Christmas trees..

Clara Had a posting for small crocheted Christmas trees... I needed something different to make and something that was quick..
It is small and I love making them, the cotton I used is one I have had in my stash for a few years now and I only use it for special crochet items.
It is from France and it is all I have left. I bought it at a garage sale in St Helens( Tas) and the lady I bought it from is a fantastic crafty person.. One of those gems, where you want to sit down and watch them work and learn...
 DMC cotton made in France
I have been given a Beautiful Blog Award from Clara, Thankyou Clara for your kind words..:))

Crochet Cotton Bag.

I thought today would be a good day to line my bag.

It wasn't the brightest of starts with the weather , but as the day
progressed it warmed up , the grass was cut, grape vines
tied back to the frame , tomatoes, onoins, lettuce were
planted plus numerous others..
I did mange to spy and eat, lovely fresh strawberries from a little
plot near the tunnel house..:))

Did I manage to complete what I started out to do this morning?
NO, a big fat NO.........

So after all that let me tell you about the bag..
It is made from the softest cotton, From memory it was Patons
Stone Wash I have had a very long time.
It is a Bernat free pattern from off the net.
I used a 4mm hook, and have to say I changed the pattern slightly
to suit me..
Not sure if I will use the Mauve handles or bamboo .
Here's hoping it will be all sewn up tomorrow.
Enjoy your day :))

Found a Bargain..

The other side of my craftiness ,is quilting , sewing, etc.. To my utter delight when shopping at our local St Vinnies Store, my DH spotted this little beauty.... I have always wanted an overlocker, but $500 for a new model , well it was on the wish list LOL..

Not any more this was only , are you ready for it? $40.00..................... I couldn't pass it by... and now all I have to do is work out how to thread it.. Thankfully I have a friend who is very wise when it comes to machines of the sewing kind.. and I know I will have all the help I need..

Xmas crochet ..
